Good News for Michigan as Foreclosures Decline

After seemingly endless bad news regarding Michigan's housing and economy woes, The Detroit News reports this morning that foreclosures in our state may possible have hit their peak and are in decline. The article indicates that Michigan foreclosure filings in January declined 7.03 percent compared to the same month a year ago.

The decline in foreclosures in Michigan contrasts with rising numbers throughout the rest of the country, with January filings up 57 % from a year ago,

In the date just released, Michigan finished 10th nationally in its foreclosure rate, the lowest ranking for the state in months.
