Livingston County Will Continue to Grow

SEMCOG, the Southeast Michigan Council of Governments, has announced that according to current population estimates, Livingston County is expected to increase over 17% between 2005 and 2035. This would project the growth in this county as the largest in the seven-county region that SEMCOG covers.

Livingston County’s land resources and the proximity to job centers were cited as the main factors for the expected increase. The county’s population was more than 181,000 in 2005. By 2035 it’s estimated to be in excess of 213,000.
