We are getting calls and emails daily about lake front lots and homes. We need more lake front properties to sell as the supply is limited and more and more people want it.
I have heard people say they don't want to spend the time driving up North when they could be enjoying a second home an hour away. It still feels like a "get-away" if you leave the neighbors, the job, the graduation parties and everything else behind. "I'm sorry. We can't make it this weekend. We are going to be out of town." Out of town could be 10 miles to the nearest lake.
As fuel prices rise, more an d more people are choosing to stay closer to home. Why would you drive 4 hours up north when Livingston County alone as more than 50 lakes. This doesn't even account for the lakes in Washtenaw, Oakland, Genessee and Shiawassee counties. And, with the market the way it is, could there be a better time to invest in lake front? There is a limited supply. Water will always be appealing to buyers. I don't know anyone who doesn't enjoy at least looking at waterfront, even if they don't use it personally for boating, fishing and other water sports and activities.
